On the news this morning, they were talking about staycations. The word itself makes me cringe (I don’t know why, there’s just something about combined words that annoys me), but the idea is a good one- especially if your vacation funds are limited this year. In case you don’t know, a staycation is when you take a few days (or a few weeks) off from work but instead of traveling you enjoy some R&R at home. To make your staycation a little more interesting, the anchors were suggesting to spend a little money turning your backyard into your own personal retreat. This way, you’ll still be saving money over a costly trip AND the money you do spend will increase the value of your home.
